Greek Life at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has experienced rather explosive growth over the last five years nearly doubling the number of students in Greek organizations. The university has also experienced growth and has become a truly residential campus, housing more than 30 percent of the full-time student population. The university is interested in providing space for a Greek community to enhance campus life.

Treanor Architects was commissioned to assist in shaping a new Greek living-learning community at SIUe. The mission is to develop a positive, living-learning Greek community that enhances campus life, provides Greeks and alumni with identity, and establishes traditions at SIUe.

Treanor has developed a program for 16-bed, 24-bed, and 30-bed individual chapter houses, as well as 18-bed and 12-bed buildings to house multiple smaller organizations. The total 75,150 gross square feet for the complex includes an 8,800 square foot commons area.
