Southeast Missouri State University New Residence Hall
Southeast Missouri State University
New Residence HallIn 2006, Southeast Missouri State University experienced the highest enrollment in the school’s 134-year history. This influx of students coupled with an increased demand for more upper-class housing led the university to examine possible solutions to their immediate housing need. In fall of 2007, Treanor Architects performed a preliminary analysis of eight potential sites and assessed the feasibility of constructing a new 250-bed residence hall or a 305-bed Greek village by August of 2009. Following the study, the university hired Treanor to be the design architect and Jacobs Facilities, Inc. as architect of record on a new 300-bed residence hall. The new housing will be seated at the front door of the university. Construction is scheduled to be complete in 2009. This project was featured in a presentation at 2008 NACAS Annual Convention in Chicago. Mission Possible: How to Build Successful Housing on a Tight Schedule. |
