City/County Law Enforcement Facility & Expansion

Being a new structure for Riley County, the Law Enforcement Center operates as a combined city/county law enforcement agency. The center houses the police operations, investigations, offices, and a jail facility. Specifically, the jail was designed to house 75 persons of varied classification levels in both direct and indirect supervision settings with design accommodations to expand to 120 inmates. Located in Manhattan, the facility is sited on a prominent intersection in the southwest part of town and is expected to serve the county’s needs for the next 15 years.

Treanor Architects is currently providing design, layout and material selection for an 11,000 square foot addition to the north side of the building. The addition will house a 32 bed maximum security area with the ability to expand in the future with an addition 24 beds. Phase II is estimated to be completed is 2008.
