Detention, Treatment and Education Complex

Treanor Architects was retained by Johnson County in 2008 to provide comprehensive design services including complete predesign, design and construction administration services for the construction of a juvenile services complex, directly north of the existing Juvenile Detention Center.

Treanor designed a 33-bed secure juvenile facility with significant emphasis on treatment, education and family integration programs. This full-service, stand-alone facility is located on the campus setting with a higher security 78-bed medium/maximum juvenile detention and shares food and laundry services. It also serves as a regional juvenile detention training facility.

Construction began in September 2009. The $13 million project is scheduled for completion in 2010.
