Shawnee Heights High School
USD 450 - Shawnee Heights
High School AdditionAfter an extensive master planning process, a $29 million bond election was successfully passed in November of 2004. The USD 450 Capital Improvement Projects were phased over several years, and involved all educational buildings within the district. Treanor Architects worked with the Board of Education, District staff and patrons to implement a phasing schedule which allowed all facilities to remain in operation during the school year. The largest project within the bond issue work was a 30,000 s.f. addition which connects the Shawnee Heights High School 9-10 and 11-12 buildings. This addition contains a central kitchen and cafeteria, and it enabled the consolidation of two separate libraries, freeing up much needed space for science classrooms. Also included in the project were central offices and a central boiler system for the combined buildings. |
