Treanor Life Sciences hosted a very successful 1st Annual Science Facility Design Symposium at the KU School of Pharmacy building on July 28th. The three presentations included:

  • "Demand Based Controls for Laboratories" by Gordon P. Sharp, Chairman, Aircuity, Inc.
  • "Construction Costs: Past/Present/Future" by James Vermeulens and Blair Tennant with Vermeulens Cost Consultants
  • "Laboratory Containment Equipment" by Brian Garrett and Luke Savage with Labconco Corporation.

The audience consisted of facilities personnel and design & construction management personnel from area universities, researchers and project managers from regional private companies, as well as engineering consultants, all interested in current trends in science facility design.

The event was so well received by the audience that plans are already in place for next year's symposium. With great feedback and suggestions for future presentations from the attendees, the 2012 Symposium will undoubtedly be even more successful. Stay tuned for updates!
